the infamous tip box

Saving - $1 tip box
Spending - $.65 milk + $7 lunch

Well, you've heard over and over (and over) about my tip box at work. And once upon a time Jeffrey encouraged us to show off our tip jars.

Well, today's photo is a snap of my infamous tip box nestled in its native environment - one of my desk drawers (yeah, like I'm going to tell you which one Big Grin) by the business cards, the tea, and the emergen-C packets. It even comes with its little tiki cover.



So far, I've moved over $1400 through my little box from the wallet to the savings account. Don't be fooled - its a powerhouse!

    I don't have a tip box in my drawer, but I do have the Kikkoman soy sauce packets for when I succumb to chinese takeout!

    Heh heh..I used the macro selection on the camera, so the snap only covers 1/4 of the drawer. The other 3/4 of the drawer is a sty.

    denise - I tip myself and do so at work. When I think about it, I put change and ones in, then when I think about it some more I make reverse change - eg. put in a $5 for 5 $1s. Once in awhile, when our floor takes up a $2-$3 collection, I'll take it from the tip box.

    At the end of the month, my final thought, I scoop up what I have in my tip box and put it in my bank 2 blocks away.

    Monthly take = $35-$50/month. Big Grin

    Oh I see! I was reading the other entry and didn't see my question about the tip box so I just asked you there, too. Feel free to ignore. Wink I'm scatterbrained this morning! I like the tip box idea. Hmmmm
