outclassed

October 4th, 2007 at 03:25 am

So I think that I'm doing well if I pick up a few dollars worth of quarters or in the case of a Milwaukee parking lot last Sunday, I picked up a stylus for DH's PDA (he loses that hardware a lot).

I'm hopelessly outclassed by sister's partner (DSP). Here's the story.

Sister and I were working on sister's laptop when DSP came by and asked if we would join her in walking the dogs. We said no and continued on with her laptop. FYI - it now starts a lot faster.

Thirty minutes later she comes back and says, "You should have come, it would have paid. Look what I found three steps from the porch."

She unfurled a $50 bill, which we later used at West End Pizza.

And last week she found three twenties and a couple of ones.

I run a coin rescue, DSP runs a bill rescue.

Wow, I found a twenty once a very long time ago. But mostly I find pennies. That's amazing!

i once found $50 in an atm, and there was no one else around that it could have belonged to. i was about 15 and my friend and i went and ate MacDonalds and bought makeup. i just hope the person who lost the money somehow found some more somewhere!

Wow, she is a champion money-finder! I have found a ten and a twenty -- many years ago. Recently I've found mostly pennies -- a dime the other day.

About 20 - 25 years ago 3 girlfriends of mine and I found $40 at the drive in. (the movie kind) We did report it at the concession stand but we refused to divulge how much we found. Needless to say the girls working the concession stand were kind of *witchy* about the whole thing. Had we told them the exact amount, I know without a doubt, that they would have told us that yes, someone claimed the money and they would have then kept it for themselves!

I have an extra stylus that's Palm brand. Is it a Palm PDA? If so, which one is it?

DH went out with a friend while we were visiting family for his birthday this summer. On their way out of the bar, DH found a $100 and a $20 !!!!! He felt really bad that someone lost their hard earned money, but you can't really go into a bar and ask who lost $120.

Philoscript - its a E2 Palm PDA, exactly the same brand as mine. If he's going to lose stuff, it might just as well be a standard brand. Big Grin

If it can handle the stylus for the Tungsten E. I have a spare if you need it. No cost. I don't have the "E" anymore.

I wonder if finding bills is related to using a lot of bills. I'm sure that Seattle uses more plastic than cash, and I think that Milwaukee uses more cash than plastic.
The more cash you use the the more times you pull out cash from a pocket, the greater the probability that bills work their way out of a pocket. Hmmm, maybe this is a Freakonomics question.
