cutting it close

Saving log - $5 tip box
Spending log - $1.70 coffee + $9 lunch

I get paid this Friday, but I just got $40 which is enough for a couple of days, leaving $48 still in the checking account, and I have $37 total in the tip box...

I haven't cut it this close successfully in years. Feeling that frugal burn, but checking to see if I pulled something.

I've been taking pictures of my tomato plants every couple of weeks or so. The weather in Seattle has been crappy, so I'm lucky that my plants are just chilling, instead of dying. This one's the "Taxi" tomato - a yellow/green determinate variety.

    Future veggies at work!! Sounds like you have fine tuned the budget!! That must feel pretty darned good! Has Seattle had their big yard sale yet???

    It looks like a healthy plant. Maybe it's developing a great root system and will grow like crazy when we get some sun. When you mulch do you have more of a problem with slugs? Now that I think about it I don't think they bother tomato plants too much.

    ray - Yep - Greenwood had its yard sale already...in a hail storm. Smile
    Petunia - I like mulch, except that you really have to make sure that the plants are well watered. Mulch keeps the water in the soil, but it also repels water. No more sprinkling the plant from the top. The slugs are hitting one specific broccoli plant. Everything else is fine.
