nearly a tweet

Saving log - $6 tip box
Spending log - $11 groceries

Added to my tip box at work and popped the 1Q tax pre-payment in the mail in advance of tax season 2010. Nothing else happened fiscally today.

Can I ask exactly how your tip box works? Do you actually get tips at your job that you add, or do you "tip yourself" as a way to save? I've been wondering since I started following your blog, because I thought you worked for a non-profit? And I didn't think you'd be getting tips there? Just curious.. Smile

L - I tip myself when I have spare coins or a dollar bill or even a few dollars in my wallet as a way to save. The tip box sometimes also comes in handy for office contributions or minor emergencies that spring up too.

I also make "reverse change" also - if I have 5 ones and a $5 in my wallet, I'll swap it out...makes the next step easier.

Then, sometime during the month, I scrape up what I have in the box, and deposit it into savings in my brick and mortar bank.
