Spending log - $22 Overstock.com purse
Found money - $0

My knee felt much better and I was much more confident on it than I had been, so I was bossed around by the trainer this afternoon. Did no knee exercises specifically, but during the twists and turns it was obvious that everything is connected. Got weighed today and I am at 173, so eating carefully to make up for no heavy exercise worked okay.

Received the purse at overstock.com. Some people are seduced by shoes, some by jewelry, some by jeans and skirts and belts... me, the purse. But this one fills a need. Vinyl, with a zipper at the top, useful because everything else I have is open or snapped at the top, I walk, and it rains in Seattle. As I was loading up my new purse, it occurred to me I carry expensive stuff routinely:

MP3 player - got it at $300
PDA - $150
Digital camera - $100
Spare prescription glasses - $200
Phone - $40

...depreciation, of course, so none of it will sell at those prices, but still, it gives me a jolt that I daily lug a pile that cost me $800. Bumping up against that 1K limit. Big Grin

hmmm, i think about that too, all of the valuables in my bag. i have actually stopped carrying a lot of them in my bag now. but i used to carry:
    camera: $500
    iriver: $380
    ipod: $65
    phone: $300 (to replace)
    sunglasses: $50

That's interest. & it's eye opening to see how much it would all cost to replace if said purse were stolen or lost!

My cell phone (with camera) was free and I think my Mp3 player cost $60. That about does it for my purse. I'm cheap. LOL. If we upgrade our camera, I would probably carry it around though. Then again, a new camera would probably cost less than our circa-2002 camera did. Considerably less.

P.S. Does an iPod really only cost $65? I lot of people around here have been robbed for cell phones and iPods. Every time I think, "Cell phone? iPod? Seriously?" Robbing name brand shoes makes more sense, financially.

A thief would be VERY disappointed with my purse (other than the obvious gain of credit cards and such). Camera? No. Ipod? No. MP3 player? No. Cell phone? Prepaid cheapy with max $20 on it. Sunglasses? Usually on my head, but I think they cost $5. Maybe they can tell by looking at my purse itself, and wouldn't bother. It's nice, but no name brand, purchased for $3 at a yard sale.

Hmm... My mp3 player is usually in my makeup bag which I keep in my gym bag, and it was only $40, but lots of songs on it.

I don't carry my camera around with me unless I think I'm going to have a reason to use it, would be about $80 to replace it.

My cell phone I think would cost about $80 to replace.

Otherwise my purse contains my keychain with library card, store discount cards, and mailbox key; chapstick, and a mini-notebook with lists of books I want to read or other notes.
