finding stuff

Saving log - $3 tip box
Spending log - $10 lunch + $8 groceries

I stopped in my tracks as I walked to the bus. 15 pennies were strewn about. I picked them all up. Actually, there was one Canadian penny, so 14 pennies. Then this evening, someone dropped a mechanical pencil on the sidewalk. Picked that up, too.

Hunting good. OOoogh.

Had lunch with lawyer friend, lawyer friend's partner, and screenwriter friend. Lawyer friend's father died several days before Christmas, so he was very subdued. I was tempted to do for him what he had done for me but it turns out, ironically enough, that his dad died without a will. Or rather, the father revoked his will. Odd to me, I guess. I mean its one thing if you never made one, but to make one, spend the bucks to set it up, then revoke it and spend more bucks, then not make a new one ... well, you're already in for it.

    Why did he revoke it?

Anytime I find a coin on the ground, I always look around to see if there are more. Many times, I've found numerous coins together in the area, like someone just decided to empty their pocket for some reason I'll never understand.

    Good money hunting!

In CA my dad found a penny at Knotsberry Farms in the parking lot (as we were leaving after nearly choking at the $52 per person entrance fee!) and I found a penny in the parking lot of Trader Joe's!

hai - you know, I'm not sure why he revoked it. I suspect that it was outdated. But then that's what codicils are for.

disneysteve & Koppur - been hit and miss for me. I mostly find single coins, but sometimes a windfall. And the multiple coins are either quarters or pennies. I don't really understand the leaving of lots change on the ground either. But you can understand the mechanics of it - you got change from grocery, gas station, bar - you jammed the change in your pocket that was either shallow or tight, then you jammed your hand back into the pocket or you took it out again - everything went flying and you either had a load, were in a hurry, or were too loaded to retrieve the money. I don't understand how you leave bills. Smile
frugaltexan - I'd choke on the $52/person. I've been to lovely high end restaurants for less.
