Two months ago Capital One sent a

missive setting the new credit card at 24.99%. I called Capital One to tell them to cancel my account. What do I get in the mail but ... drumroll please...

A new Capital One Card!

Woo whee.

Well, its just as easy and fun to cut up an inactive credit card as it is to cut up an active one.

Let me predict that in six months I'll get some sort of message like "noticed you didn't activate your card." Nothing escapes them, apparently.

    I hate credit card companies.

    Mainly because of their predatory lending practices and eagerness to rake consumers over the coals until their feet are held to the fire by Obama and others, although congressional attempts to rein in their more egregious practices have failed in the past.

    I can't even joke about it like you can.

    They usually don't notice when you don't activate a card, although I've never had direct experience with not activating a Cap1 card. DH has a Citi card that he didn't activate and I keep getting a message when I log in to check the account. It's not something we use. It doesn't seem to urgent though!

    I don't have to like credit card companies to reap the rewards they are giving me right now! Smile

    fern - don't get me wrong. Wasn't it Freud who said that humor was misplaced anger? To joke means that I'm angry by other means. I'm lucky to be a proud deadbeat.

    dmontngrey - excellent. But I'll mention it in my blog if they do. Then to think of something devious if they do.
