    I'm also keeping a close watch on them. I have a CD that will expire in the latter part of August. Believe me, I'm going to move the money right out. I was reading the new rules on their renewing CD's and I think I'll just pass on any renewable CD with them.

    LOL- I love it!

    I am worried about WaMu too. We have just a free checking account there, with very little money, but it is our most active account. Could be interesting.

    I'm out of the loop. I did'nt know their sky was falling. They just offered me a CC at 0%, but would only give me a $1500 limit. Woo hoo, won't help me consolidate too much! They are on my list to pay off 4th.

    I am out of the loop as well,haven't heard a thing. I did hear today while at the dentist an employee for Wachovia speaking to the receptionist stating that they are getting ready to lay off about 6000 so she was getting all her medical appointments taken care of

    I had small $$ in WAMU and transferred it out a couple weeks ago. I was prompted by the pending problems and it just gave me the boost to do what I meant to do anyways - consolidate banks.

    Yes...living in the financial services world, their news and those of like institutions has our members asking lots of questions. Fortunately, we did not dabble in the predatory lending practices and have not had the hardships that others have. However, we are not immune....our losses are double this year what they were last. Hopefully, the economy will correct by the end of the year...

    And only time will tell which FI's will survive.
