I'll take it, I guess

At home, I looked over my invoice at the thrift store. I appear to have gotten the 10% senior citizen discount.

I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or dye my hair. But I will take the discount.

    Strange. I am 65 and quite salt n pepper and even at that I almost always have to remind the cashiers that I am entitled to a senior discount.

    Their excuse is always that they did NOT want to embaress me by giving the discount if I was not entitled to it. Standard B.S. as I nearly ALWAYS have to remind the cashieres at Target to give me my 0.05 discount for a reusable bag. The stores, mgrs, whatever around here do NOT like to give discounts EVER.

    My mom greyed very young and has gotten the senior discount for decades! (She just turned 60?)

    I think it's easier to look old these days. *Everyone* dyes their hair, for one. So a little grey hair pretty much seals the deal. Throw in botox, plastic surgery, etc. Those of us who don't play that game are going to look older, but at least there are some perks!

    The kids tease me all the time, about hair dye, as my hair is greyish-brown.
