Last week I grouted the house numbers in gray grout, then I let the grout cure gently for 1 week. This morning I delivered it!
The couple thought that it turned out better than they could have imagined. Even though I offered to charge them $70 as a thank you for taking a chance on me, nope I got a $100 bill for it....
And an offer to mosaic their business address number ...
in any way I choose as long as the number conforms to City of Seattle business statutes.
And a hey, we want some of your business cards so that we can talk you up...
commission brought in $100

@Lucky Robin - I have received so much love with this hobby. And right now I'm in the sweet spot where its enjoyable for very cheap. I know where to find the raw materials inexpensively, I'm using what I've bought, and know how to "recycle" bits for free. No need to buy buckets or mosaic containers - just have to save the yogurt/margarine/olive bar container after use. No need to toss old clothes - cut 'em up and use them as rags to wipe mosaics down. No need to toss all the newspaper - its how I keep the patio clean.
